Georgian electricity exports fall to six-year low

Georgia's electricity exports fell to their lowest level in six years during the first seven months of 2026, generating just $11 million — half of last year's figure and far below the record $77 million recorded in 2023.

Türkiye was the main buyer, receiving 169 million kWh, but low prices made the route unprofitable, forcing limits on domestic power generation.
