Iran and Qatar discuss shipping in Strait of Hormuz

Foreign ministers Abbas Araghchi and Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al‑Thani met in Tehran to discuss regional de‑escalation and the restoration of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The talks covered the creation of a temporary shipping corridor through Hormuz and a joint mine‑clearance project.

Al‑Thani stressed the importance of sovereignty and freedom of navigation, while Iran thanked Qatar for its diplomatic efforts.
