Israel assassinates Hamas military wing commander in Khan Yunis

The Israeli military has killed Ismail Ibrahim Barim, a commander of Hamas's military wing, in a strike near Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, the IDF said.

Barim was involved in the kidnapping and detention of three Israeli hostages in a tunnel in the area, the IDF reported.

"The strike was carried out to eliminate a threat",

 the IDF said, adding that it would continue to act against any immediate threat.
