US announces full mine clearance in Strait of Hormuz

The US military has cleared all mines previously laid by the IRGC in the Strait of Hormuz, CENTCOM chief Admiral Brad Cooper said.

"We have successfully cleared naval mines laid by the IRGC several months ago along international shipping lanes in the Gulf",

Cooper said.

However, US allies have expressed doubts that the strait is completely clear, as Bloomberg reported earlier this week.
