39th Intercontinental Dardanelles Swimming Race held in Türkiye

The 39th Intercontinental Hellespont Swimming Race took place in Türkiye on Sunday, with 1,535 swimmers taking part, including 50 Russians.

Participants crossed the strait separating Europe and Asia despite strong currents. The planned 5‑kilometre course was shortened to 3‑3.5 kilometres due to challenging conditions.

The race began at around 8:30 a.m. local time from Eceabat on the European side of the Dardanelles, with swimmers given 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach Çanakkale.
