Baku hosts 3rd assembly of alpine federations of CIS and Georgia
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Azerbaijani capital of Baku has hosted the 3rd summit of alpine federations of the CIS and Georgia, Turan reports.
Azerbaijani Minister for Sports and Youth Azad Ragimov arrived to make an opening speech. He acknowledged the competition between alpinism and extreme sports.
Head of the Ukrainian federation Valentine Simonenko noted the potential of alpinism on solving ecological issues, healthcare and spiritual development. Participants of the summit decided to found the Eurasian Association of Alpinism headquartered in Baku Head of the Azerbaijani Alpine Federation Israfil Ashurly was elected as head of the association.
9 states attended the summit.
