Trump supports ending war with Iran - Media

US President Donald Trump has backed the idea of ending the war with Iran in discussions with his inner circle, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing White House sources.

Trump told advisers that economic pressure on Tehran would force Iran to abandon its nuclear programme. However, some close to him warned that further escalation could hurt Republicans ahead of the midterm elections.

Trump has said domestic political risks do not influence his decisions on Iran.
