Türkiye to triple military spending over three years

Türkiye will increase military spending by 229% over the next three years as part of a drive to develop its own defence industry, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz announced.

"In the defence industry, we are targeting Türkiye, which independently develops advanced technologies and produces high‑value‑added products",

Yılmaz said.

The funds will be used to develop fighter jets, air defence systems, UAVs, and armoured vehicles.
