Tanker attacked off UAE coast by unknown projectile

A tanker off the coast of the UAE was struck by an unidentified projectile, causing serious damage and causing the vessel to list, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Office reported.

The attack occurred 24 nautical miles from Port Rashid. Water may be entering the tank, the report said.

Authorities are investigating the incident and have urged vessels to take precautions.

The IRGC had previously announced plans to attack ships in Kuwaiti and Bahraini ports in response to US aggression.
