US begins escorting tankers in Strait of Hormuz

The US Navy has begun escorting oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, Energy Secretary Chris Wright said.

Wright said.

According to Wright, US data on the number of vessels traversing the strait is accurate, being based on actual movements rather than estimates, and that Washington has stripped Tehran of the leverage it sought by holding global shipping hostage.
