Earthquake strikes Caspian Sea today

An earthquake was recorded in the Caspian Sea on Monday, the Earthquake Research Bureau of the Republican Seismic Survey Center under ANAS reported.

The tremor had a magnitude of 4.1 and a focal depth of 46 kilometres.

Much of Azerbaijan's territory is seismically active, though forecasts suggest future earthquakes in the country are unlikely to be very strong.
