Earthquake shakes southeastern Azerbaijan

An earthquake hit Azerbaijan's Lerik district on the morning of September 27, the Earthquake Research Bureau of the Republican Seismic Survey Center reported.

The tremors had a magnitude of 3.2, with the hypocenter located at a depth of 23 kilometres. No damage or injuries have been reported.

A few days earlier, seismologists recorded an earthquake in the Caspian Sea, where more than 200 tremors occur annually.
