Baku Stock Exchange registers four-fold increase in deals

The turnover of deals at the Baku Stock Exchange reached 5.7 billion manats in January-September 2011, a 4.2-fold increase compared with the same period in 2010, Trend reports.

The securities market grew by 57.8%, reaching 496.9 million manats. It is a result of a higher quantity of operations with corporate bonds (an increase of 2.1-fold), although the the number of deals dropped by 14% to 141.

The market for state securities grew five-fold, reaching 5.2 billion manats. Repo-operations increased 7.3-fold and operations notes of the Central Bank increased 3.4-fold, the number of deals with each instrument increased 1.7-fold.
