Cargo ship runs aground near Istanbul

A cargo ship has run aground on Istanbul's Black Sea coast at Çilingez Beach in the Çatalca district, Turkish media reported.

Coast Guard units are at the scene, and specialists have begun preparations to refloat the vessel.

The cause of the incident is unknown. There is also no information regarding the ship's flag state.

Preliminary reports indicate no injuries and no environmental threat.
