The history of France and Germany demonstrates that even the greatest pain and hatred can be overcome, French President Nilocas Sarkozy said, commenting on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mediamax reports.

The two states had three conflicts in the space of a few decades. They fought in WWI and WWII. Today their friendly ties are a keystone for European construction.

Armenia and Azerbaijan need to take the same path, Sarkozy believes. 17 years of deaths and suffering have passed, it is time for a peaceful resolution of the conflict, he says.
