Iranian navy to receive new armed submarine

The Iranian navy is due to receive a new Iranian-built 'Fateh' (Warrior) submarine, equipped with the latest armour, as well as various rocket complexes, mines and modern weaponry, Iran News reports.

The 600-ton submarine can dive to depths of 200 metres and be at sea for up to 5 weeks.
 
The submarine is due to patrol Iran's territorial waters and protect the interests of the Islamic Republic at sea.
