Georgian and Australian foreign ministers meet in Melbourne

Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze has met his Australian counterpart Kevin Rudd in Melbourne, Georgia Online reports.


The sides discussed a wide range of bilateral and multilateral ties. They stressed cooperation in international relations and development of trade-economic ties. Kevin Rudd expressed support for the sovereignty and territorial unity of Georgia.


Grigol Vashadze also met the Parliamentary Secretary for Pacific Island Affairs, Richard Marles. They discussed cooperation with the island states of the Pacific Ocean and prospects for their development. Marles gave information on the priorities of Australian foreign policy towards island states.
