Russia and Azerbaijan may coordinate tourism development of Caspian

Russia and Azerbaijan want to coordinate tourism development in the Caspian Region. Ahmed Bilalov, Vice-President of the Russian Olympic Committee, is heading a delegation of the Resorts of the North Caucasus Company to Azerbaijan. They will discuss development of coastal tourism, ITAR-TASS reports.


Alexander Khloponin, Vice-Premier and Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District, visited Baku on October 4-5. He invited Azerbaijani investors to the North Caucasus.


Dagestani President Magomedsalam Magomedov said that construction of resorts in the North Caucasus was presented to the Azerbaijani side.


The Resorts of the North Caucasus is the operator of the tourism facilities in the area. Russia is working on five world-class resorts: Lagonaki (Krasnodar Territory) Arkhyz (Karachay-Cherkessia), Elbrus-Bezengi (Kabardino-Balkaria), Mamison (North Ossetia-Alania) and Matlas (Dagestan).


The tourism cluster will be expanded by adding territories of the Caspian in Dagestan, Mineralnyye Vody to the Stavropol Territory and Jeyrakhsky and Sunzhensky Districts to Ingushetia.
