Vladikavkaz blast organizer jailed for 16 years

The Supreme Court of North Ossetia has sentenced 28-year old Ibragim Daurbekov to 16 years in prison for being a member of the terrorist group (Vilayat Galgayche) that organized the blast at the central market of Vladikavkaz in September 2010, Interfax reports.

Daurbekov gave evidence against 7 members of the group and admitted that he had not been involved in the terrorist attack, Judge Stanislav Balikoyev said.

Daurbekov was a member of the group that had been part of Doku Umarov terrorist organization. The group consisted of 20 other people, 13 of whom are under arrest.

The blast at the central market of Vladikavkaz happened in September 2010. It was organized by a suicide bomber at the entrance. 19 people died and over 200 were injured.
