Record potato harvest in Karachaevo-Cherkessia

Farmers in Karachaevo-Cherkessia have harvested a record more than 200,000 tons of potatos this year - 43,000 tons more than last year, RIA-Novosti reports.

A source in the republic's ministry of agriculture told the agency that the bumper crop was due to elite seeds and encouraging innovative agricultural methodsthe source added that all the harvest was brought in on time without loss, apart from hail-struck Zelenchukski district.
