Iran to sue UN rights inspector
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIranian lawmaker Mohammad-Karim Abedi says the parliament is planning to take legal action against Ahmed Shaheed, the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation of Iran, Press TV reports on Wednesday.
Abedi, who is also the deputy head of the Iranian parliament's human rights subcommittee said on Wednesday that lawmakers are lodging a complaint with the Iranian Judiciary against Shaheed for his recent report on Iran, which they describe as biased and directed by “international Zionism” to mount pressure on Tehran.
"The report by the UN human rights rapporteur aims to [create an atmosphere of] propaganda against Iran and is being directed behind the scenes by the US, the UK, and the Zionist regime," Iranian media quoted the Iranian lawmaker as saying.
