Russia and Georgia will hold another round of talks on WTO membership today, Georgian Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said, Trend reports.

She confirmed that the previous talks on October 20 were fruitless.

The Georgian delegation is headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergi Kapanadze.

Kapanadze underlined that Russia does not allow for clarity of the economic borders of Georgia on the Abkhaz and South Ossetian borders.

Georgia would only allow Russia to join the WTO in exchange for permission to send international observers to the borders.

Georgia is the only state standing between Russia and the WTO. All EU states have permitted Russia to join. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Saturday that Georgia is not an obstacle to joining the WTO.
