GUAM head sure organization not threatened with disintegration

GUAM Secretary General Valery Chechelashvili is sure the organization is not threatened with disintegration and that it has a future. As he declared in Tbilisi on Friday during conversations with journalists, GUAM has to activate concrete projects, Trend reports.

“We cannot boast that all eight groups existing within the organization are actively realizing projects. That is why it is necessary to use all the potential that the organization has,” Chechelashvili said.

Discussion of the possible disintegration of GUAM started after the election of new Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. “We hope that the new government of Ukraine will actively support the organization’s remaining countries,” Chechelashvili said.
