Candidates for president of South Ossetia require changes in electoral procedure

Candidates for the post of president of South Ossetia have appealed to the chairwoman of the Central Electoral Commission, Bella Plieva, requesting the opening of polling stations in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania on the day of presidential elections on November 13, Republic News Agency reports.

The document was signed by presidential candidates Merab Chigoev, Igor Alborov, Inal Bazzaev, Jemal Dzhigkaev, Alla Jioeva, Alan Pliev, Edward Gabaraev, Sergey Bitiev and Alan Kochiyev.

These candidates have also asked the CEC to make several amendments to the procedure of the presidential election, in order to prevent possible violations at polling stations.

Elections for the president of South Ossetia will be held on the 13th of November 2011.
