Chechnya starts construction of bypass road around Gudermes

Specialists have started construction of a bypass road around Gudermes in Chechnya to reduce traffic on the M-29 “Kavkaz” Highway, RIA Novosti reports.

Gayoz Makiyev, head of the federal structure “Administration of the North Caucasian Roads”, said that bids have been concluded and an excavator has arrived for the construction site. The first stage of construction will last until 2015. It includes construction of 14.5 km of two-lane road 15 meters wide. The bypass will have a total length of 39 km.
