Turkish PM meets leader of Iraqi Kurds
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe president of Iraqi Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani, has held three-day talks in Turkey, TRT-Russian reports.
Barzani was welcomed by Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. They discussed terrorism control. Turkey expects Barzani to express a clear position on the issue.
The leader of the Iraqi Kurds met Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul on the last day of his visit. Erdogan told Barzani that Turkey strives for peace, serenity and prosperity in the region.
Barzani underlined that Turkey is a developed state, in terms of democracy, but noted that terrorism harms everyone.
Barzani noted that Erdogan had visited Erbil in March and considers it a historic change. The process needs courage and forces to speak for peaceful measures, he notes.
Massoud Barzani arrived in Istanbul on November 3 to discuss cooperation in fighting the PKK.
