OPEC forecasts increase in oil demand
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has raised its forecast for the demand of oil in 2015 up to 92.9 million barrels per day, which is 1.9 million barrels above the previous forecast, RIA Novosti reports.
OPEC believes that the main increase in consumption will come from Asian countries.
Experts of the organization suggest that the needs of the global economy for power will increase by 51% until 2035, with the dominant role played by fossil fuels. By 2035 their share in ensuring the economy is expected to reach about 82%, including about 28% for oil, 25% for gas and 29% for coal.
OPEC notes that by 2035 world demand for oil may reach about 110 million barrels per day.
The experts predict that the average price per barrel will amount to 133 dollars in 2035.
