Israel does not want war
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIsraeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said that Israel does not want war and has not made any decisions on military actions against Iran, despite media reports on preparations for an attack. The minister denied reports on an upcoming military strike against Iran ordered by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Xinhua reports.
Barak stated that the report of IAEA on the Iranian problem is the best deadline for introduction of international sanctions against Iran. He sees no optimism of the international society in banning development of nuclear arms in Iran. Last week Israeli President Shimon Peres talked about a possible strike on Iran.
Iran is ready to resist any security threats from Israel, Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said, Interfax reports.
Hussein Ibragimi, deputy head of the Iranian National Security Council, said today that if Israel attacks Iran’s nuclear facilities, it will not only be destroyed from a distant strike but by all allies of the Islamic Republic too. Israel can be attacked by militants from the Gaza Sector, Hisbollah from Lebanon and Syria, the Iranian minister warns.
