Oil leak at Batumi terminal

An oil leak has been detected at a Batumi terminal near the Bartskhan Village. Locals say rain and oil mixed and entered the river and then the sea. Head of the oil terminal told TV-25 that the Nefteterminal owns the pipeline and will fix it.

Tengiz Gordeladze says that land may have absorbed oil and expects the terminal to solve the problem.

An oil spill entered drinking water of the village in July. Head of the local organization New Rights, Paata Mgeladze, tried to resolve the situation. He demands better control of the terminal.
