Russian foreign minister and Iranian officials discuss nuclear program

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Deputy Secretary of the Supreme Council of National Security of Iran, Ali Bageri-Kyani, discussed the Iranian nuclear program on Wednesday against the background of the release of a report by the IAEA secretary general, Iran News reports.

The sides touched upon settlement of conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa. Russia is devoted to a political-diplomatic method of resolving conflicts without outside interference.

Ali Bageri met the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, his deputy Yevgeny Lukyanov and Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov on Wednesday. The sides exchanged views on cooperation in the nuclear sphere and security, events in the region and the latest IAEA report on the Iranian nuclear program. They also talked on other issues of mutual interest.
