Georgian government to insure children and pensioners

From September next year, the Georgian government will insure 670 000 pensioners, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri said at a Cabinet meeting today, reports Business Georgia. In addition, the insurance program will cover all the children below five years, approximately 250 thousand.

According to Gilauri, the amendments will be budgeted for 2012.

Gilauri mentioned that this insurance means a 15 GEL voucher, which includes free consultation, various analysis, operations with financing from 20 to 80%.

He also added that an important part of the budget for 2012 is to increase of the pensions to the people over 67 years, meaning the final pension package. Gilauri explained that the 140 GEL  package includes a 15 GEL  insurance voucher and  125 GEL pension .
