"Whatever happens and whoever the presidents may be, relations between
Ukraine and Georgia will be good" - 82 year-old ex-president of Georgia Eduard Shevarnadze said in an interview to the "Izvestiya v Ukraine" newspaper.

"The relations between our countries have always been positive and friendly. We are both Christian, we are historically linked, the present state of affairs is good too. But the Georgians made a mistake in sending 2000 people to Donbass, where the present Ukrainian president was born. This was a mistake" - he pointed out.

"I met your present president only once at a ceremony during his premiership. He said that a Georgian had helped him to finish school and university. So we could say that Georgians brought Yanukovich up and we are relatives" - said Shevarnadze.

Also, he denied allegations that Ukrainians had sold weapons to Georgia.
