EU foreign ministers expressed support for stiffening sanctions against Iran, but decided to postpone the final decision on this matter until December 1, the next meeting of the EU foreign ministers, Reuters cites the statement of the foreign ministers of EU countries issued on Monday.

"The Council (EU) will continue to explore possible new and enhanced measures (sanctions against Iran) and return to the issue at its next meeting, taking into account the actions of Iran," the statement reads.

The statement rejects military intervention in the affairs of Tehran. Meanwhile, international media reported on intentions to attack Iranian nuclear facilities coming from the US and Israel.

The German Foreign Minister, Guido Westerwelle, said at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels that Germany would not participate in any discussions of possible military strikes against Iran over its nuclear issue on Monday. UK Foreign Secretary William Hague, for his part, on Monday once again said that his country is considering all options for resolving the Iranian nuclear issue, including military intervention.
