Russians trust Kazakhstan, Belarus and Ukraine

According to recent polls, the Russian people first of all trust Kazakhstan, Belarus and Ukraine. Kazakhstan seems to Russians the most successful country among the post-Soviet republics and the most stable partner for the Russian Federation.

37 per cent of Russians trust Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, 28 per cent of the population trust Belorussian President Alexander Lukashenko and 17 per cent - Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovich. 

A VK correspondent asked political analyst Sergey Mikheyev to comment on the results of the polls.

According to the expert, Ukraine and Belarus are popular among Russians as the countries closest from a cultural and ethnic point of view. Kazakhstan is popular, as 50 per cent of its population are Russians and the country is promoted positively by the media.
