Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has underscored the need for stronger Iran-Iraq ties for the promotion of justice around the world, saying the two countries enjoy inseparable relations, Press TV reports.
“Iran and Iraq have brotherly relations and no factor can divide the two nations,” Ahmadinejad said at a Thursday meeting with Iraq's Army Chief, Lieutenant General Babakir Zebari, in the Iranian capital city, Tehran.
“The arrogant powers merely seek out their own material interests and have no respect for the rights and cultures of other nations. Under such circumstances, the world's independent nations and governments should further consolidate their ties,” Press TV quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.
The Iranian president also pointed to the current global developments, and argued that Tehran and Baghdad can extend effective cooperation to help establish a “just order” in the world.
