Baku to open largest cinema theatre in South Caucasus

Baku will launch the modernized and reconstructed Nizami cinema theatre, deputy head of the Investment Department of the Ministry for Culture and Tourism, Ruslan Abdulalimov, said, 1news.az reports.


The theatre will have 4 halls, with the smallest screen 18 meters wide.


The theatre has been functioning since February 1, 1940. It was closed for reconstruction some years ago as part of the state program for development of cinema for 2008-2018. It is the largest cinema theatre in the South Caucasus, located in Azerbaijan. It will be an International Cinema Center.
