Chechen designers for Western Europe

Several Western European states will host a Festival of Chechen Art next year. The event was announced by Fedor Filkov, President of the Center for International Fashion Development, General Producer of the International Fashion Contest “Couturier of the Year”, at the final regional qualification round of the “Couturier of the Year-2011” in Grozny.

The contest was organized by the Fund of Future Arts with its Chechen partner Zulfiya Gadayeva. Madrid, Berlin and Paris will allow Chechen designers to show their works. This includes winners of the regional contest “Couturier of the Year2011”. Each state will show fashion, painting, graphics, national arts.

“The Fund of Future Arts does not only organize a set of events in Russia, Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, but also in 13 states of the world. We hold art exhibitions, defile of young clothes designers. I am sure that the rich culture of Chechnya and its originality will be of great interest… I believe that demonstrations in Europe would stir up the audience and “wake” citizens of states we will visit and they will be very impressed”, Filkov emphasized.

He also shared his experience on the style of work of Chechen designers. Vyacheslav Zaycev forbid demonstration of pieces “that cannot be called clothes”. A designer’s goal is to dress a woman and man to underline their perfections and minimize their downsides, rather demonstrate installations that have nothing to do with fashion, Filkov goes on. The audience and the judges will see a wide graphic pallet of a designer’s view.
