GUAM prepares for meeting of foreign ministers

National coordinators of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova), are meeting in Kishinev on Monday, Trend reports.


The talks will concern the development of cooperation in the political and economic spheres, approval of a schedule for the Council of Foreign Ministers within the OSCE ministerial framework planned in Vilnius for December 6-7.


Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov will represent the state as a GUAM coordinator.


The GUAM was formed by post-Soviet states at the EU summit in Strasburg in 1997.Uzbekistan joined the GUAM in 1999 only to leave it in 4 years. The first summit of the format took place in Kiev in 2006. It was announced as the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM.
