Georgia needs to be allied with Russia – Shevarnadze

An alliance of Orthodox states would be a serious step towards peace, former Georgian President Eduard Shevarnadze said, Georgia Online reports.

The official believes that the visit of the Georgian catholicos-patriarch to Moscow is aimed at normalizing ties.
