Prosecution ask for severe penalty for killer of Dagestani politician Farid Babayev

The last discussion on the consequences of the verdict in the second
case of the assassination of Farid Babayev, the local leader of the

party "Yabloko", has taken place in the supreme court of Dagestan. The
jurors announced their verdict on May 21, Gazeta.ru reports.

The prosecution asked the court to sentence Rasil Mamedrezayev to 16
years in prison. Sentence will be passed on Thursday the 3rd of June.

Babayev was shot down in Makhachkala on November 21st 2007 and died on
the way to hospital.
