Hermitage to open exhibition of Azerbaijani cultural heritage

The State Hermitage in Saint-Petersburg plans to open the first exhibition of Azerbaijani historical and cultural heritage, Trend reports.


The exhibition was initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Fund and head of the fund’s office in Russia. The Azerbaijani Consul General in Saint-Petersburg, Gudsi Osmanov, passed Aliyeva’s initiative to the Director of the Hermitage, Mikhail Piotrovsky.


A protocol on an exhibition of Azerbaijani works in the Hermitage is planned to be signed by the State Hermitage and the office of the Heydar Aliyev Fund.


The sides also agreed to mark the 870th anniversary of Azerbaijani poet Nizami Gyanjevi.
