The Iranian ambassador to Beirut has criticized Arab League for its decision to slap sanctions on Syria, saying the move would not help to resolve the Syrian crisis, Press TV reports on Wednesday.
Ghazanfar Rokn-Abadi described on Tuesday the imposition of sanctions against Syria as futile, stressing that the Syrian nation and government can resolve their difficulties on their own initiatives, Press TV cites the Mehr news agency.
Rokn-Abadi reiterated that Iran strongly supports the reform plan in Syria and opposes any intervention in the domestic affairs of the country or any other nation in the Middle East.
Arab foreign ministers on November 27 agreed on sweeping sanctions against Damascus.
