Baku to host 5th International Festival of M. Rostropovich on December 4

Baku will host the 5th International Festival of M. Rostropovich on December 4, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Fund, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Fund of Mstislav Rostropovich, contact.az reports.

The festival will be highlighted with Victor Tretyakov, Ignat Solzhenitsyn, Jean Iv Tibode (France), Georg Nigl (Austria), Dmitry Yurovsky’s orchestra from Antwerp.

Alexander Skulsky’s orchestra from Nizhny Novgorod will perform.

The festival will open at the Flemish Royal Opera Orchestra at 19.00. It will perform for 2 days. The Azerbaijani State Philarmony will give a concert of the local symphonic orchestra on December 6. The Center of Opera named after G. Vishnevsky, will have classic concerts of solo singers on December 7, the Une Nuit de Tango concert will be held on December 8, the Azerbaijani Symphonic Orchestra will have a concert on December 9.

The festival will end on December 10 with an ensemble of solo singers of one of the world’s biggest orchestras from France – Orchestra de Paris, headed by Lourence Foster.
