SOCAR launches new borehole in Guneshli
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) has launched a new borehole at the gas condensate field of Guneshli in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, Trend reports.
The borehole was launched on the Guneshli-11 platform. It extracts 140,000 cubic meters of gas and 10 tons of condensate daily at an interval of 3665-3625 meters. It was drilled by the joint venture of SOCAR-AQS, ordered by SOCAR’s managing company “28 May”.
The shallow waters of Guneshli were developed by SOCAR using its own finances. The deep part of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli bloc was developed by a consortium of foreign ventures.
Azerbaijan currently exploits 61 oil and gas condensate fields, 21 of which are under the sea, the rest under land. The joint venture of Azneft and OSCAR has 35 fields, 15 of which are under the sea and 20 under land.
