S.Ossetia Supreme Court refuses to annul poll results
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Supreme Court of South Ossetia has declined to satisfy a complaint by Alla Jiloyeva, former candidate for president, to annul the results of elections, RIA Novosti cites chairman of the court, Atsamaz Bichenov, as saying.
Jiloyeva said on Tuesday that she plans to call her complaint to the Supreme Court off due to distrust in its impartiality.
The Supreme Court canceled the election results, where Alla Jiloyeva, an opposition member, won. New elections were set for March 25, 2012, where Jiloyeva cannot run for president.
Jiloyeva disagreed with the decision and called herself president, summoning supporters to protest at the Tskhinvali center. Jiloyeva’s supporters demanded Incumbent President Kokoity to resign on Saturday. Her headquarters announced her inauguration on December 10.
