Russia to host Decade of Armenian Literature, Armenia to host Russian Literature Festival

The Armenian Writers’ Union has held a meeting in Yerevan of its Chairman, Levon Ananyan, and Editor-in-Chief of the Literature of Armenia magazine, Albert Nalbandian, with a representative of the Russian Federal Agency for the CIS and Compatriots Living Abroad, Victor Krivopuskov, the Russian ambassador to Armenia's advisor, News Armenia reports.

The sides rounded up results of work in 2011 and analyzed achievements of the 4th Russian Literature Festival in Armenia in October, in which over half a million people were involved. They talked about prospects for cooperation in 2012. They agreed on Russia hosting the Decade of Armenian Literature and Armenia hosting the 5th Festival of Russian Literature. A bilingual almanac on modern prose and poetry will be published and a three-week school for translators will be organized, based on the Literature Center in Tsakhadzor.

Special attention was paid to the Literature of Armenia magazine. It expects positive changes in the number of copies to be published and in cooperation with Literaturnaya Gazeta and other Russian publications.
