Modernization of Batumi Port will allow cruise liners to enter

Batumi is modernizing its port to allow cruise liners to enter, Adjara head Levan Varshalomidze said at the Seatrade Cruise Forum in Istanbul, Georgia Online reports.

The modernization of the port is being carried out by a German company with a ready project. Realization of the project will start in 2012. Varshalomidze met leading cruise companies and informed them about the Batumi Port. He also talked about infrastructure built for tourists in Adjara.

The number of cruise liners entering the Batumi Port increases annually. But the port needs to be deepened and modernized.
