Over 5000 anti-missile complexes neutralized in Libya

Libyan and US specialists have neutralized about 5,000 anti-missile complexes in Libya, US Deputy Secretary of State for Military-Political Affairs Andrew Shapiro said, RIA Novosti reports.

He added that a thousand more anti-missile complexes were destroyed by NATO bombing.

Shapiro is in Libya on a one-day visit and fears use of anti-missile weapons against the peaceful population. He said that US had spent $6 million on utilization of such weapons.

The joint US-Libyan operation to neutralize anti-missile complexes has been ongoing for several months.
