Number of gas consumers increases in Armenia

The number of registered gas consumers in Armenia reached 623,375 by December 1, 2011, ARKA cites ArmRosgazprom, the Armenian monopolist of supply and distribution of Russian gas, as saying.

The number of consumers increased by 10,518 in January-November 2011, with 1,835 of them connected in November.

ArmRosgazprom is an Armenian-Russian joint venture formed in 1997. Its shareholders are Gazprom and the government of Armenia. Russia transports gas to Armenia through Georgia.
