Sochi to open big ice-skating arena in 2012

Sochi will open a large big ice-skating arena in the spring of 2012 as part of the Olympic park, Yuga.ru reports.

The arena can hold 12,000 people. Over 20 steps of various length will be covered in dark-grey granite. About 5,000 square plates will be laid with a total granite area of 36,000 squares.

The arena will have 90x90 tiles on the floor. Over 20,000 granite tiles will be needed.
